Thai Air Asia was established by the Shin Corporation on December the 8th, 2003, in partnership with the larger Malaysian-owned low-budget airline, Air Asia. The goal of Air Asia is to offer low fare no frills flights that are cheap enough to allow everyone to fly. Air Asia has 9 twin-engined Boeing 737-300 aircraft, 6 of the larger long-haul twin-engined Airbus A330-300 aircraft, 70 of the newer twin-engined Airbus A320-200 aircraft, and 2 of the very large long-haul four-engined Airbus A340-300 aircraft. Thai Air Asia operates 17 of these aircraft. By using less aircraft types, costs for training & spare parts can be reduced. This helps keep air fares low. Air Asia also uses ticket-less travelling. This encourages more people to use air travel. Air Asia currently operates more than 200 flights per day to more than 60 domestic & international destinations in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, India, the U.A.E., Myanmar, Brunei, China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, the U.K., Bangladesh, Australia, & the Philippines.
